DCA order engine

Correctly calculated DCA orders were still being rejected by the exchange.

Scoped / R&D

The challenge

Correctly calculated DCA orders were still being rejected by the exchange.

What we built

  • DCA ladder, precision and fee rules for ApeX and Bitget
  • Active-order limit with a queue (e.g. 2 live, 8 waiting)

The full story

The situation

A DeFi trading product’s DCA strategy calculated orders correctly, but the ApeX exchange kept rejecting them for insufficient margin, low limit fees, prices that didn’t step as expected, and bad number formats.

Approach

  • Plan the whole DCA ladder first, then validate it against exchange rules
  • Round prices and sizes to the exchange’s allowed steps and minimums
  • Calculate the limit fee from order value and round it up
  • Clean up decimal values before maths and send numbers as strings
  • Respect the active-order limit, for example 10 planned orders with 2 live and 8 queued
