The situation
Staff needed one screen to see lock status and send lock or unlock commands to SmartThings smart locks.
What we built
A Node.js web app with SmartThings OAuth (connection, callback, token storage and refresh), a device list filtered to locks, lock status updates every 5 seconds, health and battery every 15 seconds, and Lock and Unlock buttons.
Built for troubleshooting
Each device has a detail view showing readable status next to the raw JSON, its capabilities and its profile. The app checks what a lock actually supports before offering a feature, so PIN management is only shown when the device exposes it.
Where it stands
Delivered with PM2, Nginx and HTTPS deployment. A physical lock test and production rollout were not part of the recorded work.
