Google has released Site Kit by Google 1.186.0, bringing a new content-event provider to conversion event tracking along with updates to PDF reports, Email Reporting, Reader Revenue Manager, Sign in with Google and the Site Kit interface.
The latest release is currently listed on WordPress.org as version 1.186.0 and is marked as tested with WordPress 7.1. The plugin has more than 5 million active installations.
According to Google’s changelog, the provider is now available to all sites using Site Kit.
This expands Site Kit’s conversion-event tracking capabilities beyond the existing event providers. The update also includes a fix for WooCommerce conversion tracking when an order ID does not resolve to a WooCommerce order, such as when dealing with a refund.
Version 1.186.0 also introduces the initial datastore for a Feature Discovery Hub.
Google has added a corresponding featureDiscoveryHub feature flag as part of this work. The changelog describes these as initial components, indicating that the release establishes the underlying functionality rather than announcing a fully developed standalone feature hub.
The update includes several improvements to Site Kit’s PDF reporting functionality.
These changes are primarily usability and reliability improvements rather than a complete redesign of Site Kit’s PDF reporting system.
Site Kit’s Email Reporting feature also receives several updates in version 1.186.0.
The release adds an Email Reporting icon to the header and includes multiple fixes for the email-report interface and layout. Google also fixed visual problems affecting email reports when viewed in Outlook 365 on Windows 11.
Another fix addresses a problem in which the recipient’s locale could leak through the email-report section builder’s success path.
The latest release adds a newsletter call-to-action preview to the Reader Revenue Manager express setup.
The preview supports both:
Site Kit 1.186.0 also adds a dashboard notification that can prompt users to resume an abandoned Reader Revenue Manager express setup. Google has additionally updated the setup CTA banner for its upcoming sign-up form express setup.
Google has added a features menu for mobile and tablet viewports in Site Kit 1.186.0.
This is one of the interface-level changes included in the update and is intended to provide a more suitable way of accessing Site Kit features on smaller screens.
The release also updates Sign in with Google to support websites using WooCommerce’s “open registration” setting.
This change improves compatibility for WordPress sites that use WooCommerce registration alongside Sign in with Google.
Alongside the new functionality, Google has addressed several smaller issues.
The update includes fixes for:
